While the coal-powered electricity generation plant of AES Warrior Run has gone dark, there is still work happening at the corporate level to make the plant usable again. The Allegany County Commissioners voted to grant the company a tax exemption credit for equipment purchased in 2023. County Economic Development Director Jeff Barclay tells WCBC that a meeting occurred Thursday where AES officials indicated they are pitching other companies to come work alongside them in Mexico Farms…
“Would you consider coming to this, this industrial park out there and co-locating with them doing something – whether it was a manufacturer or some other type of energy company and that’s what the discussions were about today. And we were encouraged with that. There’s going to be more discussions, maybe even site visits from other companies.”
