On Thursday, August 22, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served a Criminal Summons on Rodney Smith. The Allegany County District Court issued the summons for an incident that occurred on August 3, 2024. During the investigation, Officers learned that Smith entered a business in the 700 Block of Park Street and attempted to steal several items. Smith fled the scene but was later identified using security footage. Smith was served with the summons and released pending his trial at District Court.

On Thursday, August 22, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served a Criminal Summons on Tia Jones. The Allegany County District Court issued the summons as a result of a private citizen complaint. Jones was served with the summons and released pending her trial at District Court.

On Thursday, August 22, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served a Criminal Summons on Stephanie Connolly. The Allegany County District Court issued the summons for an incident that occurred on August 21, 2024. Officers were on a routine foot patrol in the area of the George Washington Headquarters Park when they observed Connolly. She appeared to be heavily intoxicated and was offered assistance. While assisting Connolly, She became uncooperative, began acting in a disorderly manner, and assaulted an officer by striking them in the chest. Connolly was served with the summons and released pending her trial at District Court.

On Thursday, August 22, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served a Bench Warrant on Brittany Loscig. The Allegany County District Court issued the Warrant as a result of Loscig failing to obey the terms of her probation. Loscig was originally arrested on February 22, 2024, for Assault in the Second Degree. Loscig was taken before a District Court Commissioner where she was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $500 bond. 

 On Friday, August 23, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 200 Block of Pear Street for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers learned that Tracy Williams had attempted to break into the residence. Williams had fled the area prior to the Officers' arrival. It was later reported that Williams went to the area of Knox Street where he assaulted several individuals and threatened to return with a firearm. Officers located Williams in the area of Maryland Avenue where he was placed under arrest. Williams was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center where he is awaiting his appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
