Allegany County Public School students will remain in a fully-virtual learning format this week prior to the holiday break. That announcement came from the Board of Education Friday. It will be virtual learning this week through Wednesday – with schools then breaking Thursday November 26th through Monday November 30th for the Thanksgiving holiday. A surge in COVID 19 cases in the county and the school system began in October and has continued since. Board of Education member Robert Farrell said it is particularly frustrating for the school system, with county health officials unable to explain the spike in numbers.
