Allegany County Public Schools will host a virtual live informational meeting for parents and students interested in learning more about the P-TECH program on Thursday, February 25, 2021, beginning at 6 p.m. The P-TECH program is a high school and beyond (9-14) model, which combines high school, college and the world of work. The program’s mission is to provide students with a free education that starts in grade nine, continues through high school completion with a high school diploma, and culminates in the attainment of an Associate Degree in Computer Technology.
The window to apply for the program opens on February 26, 2021, and will remain open through March 11, 2021, at 5 p.m. A maximum of 25 students will be admitted to the P-TECH cohort, and a lottery will be conducted, if necessary, if more than 25 interested students apply.
To join the virtual informational session on February 25th, visit the ACPS website, www.acpsmd.org, and click on the P-TECH Quick Link. The link will be active beginning at 5:45 p.m. Parents and students can also request more information about the program and have the virtual meeting link sent directly to them by completing the Request for Information form.
