The Allegany College of Maryland Board of Trustees has narrowed its presidential search to four candidates and the public is being invited to be part of the process. Open forums are being held with each candidate at the Robert Zimmer Theater and questions from the citizenry are welcome. The final four candidates include Dr. Kurt Hoffman, currently vice president of instructional and student affairs at ACM. Also vying for the president’s job is David Jones, currently vice president of advancement and community relations at the college. Former AC professor Tom Striplin is a candidate; Striplin is currently President of Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College. The fourth candidate is the only one with no past ties to ACM and her name is Dr. Kristin Mallory, currently employed at Wor-Wic Community College on the Eastern Shore.
