Marie Miller who directs the Forestry Program at Allegany College of Maryland recently spoke to WCBC about the course. This forestry program is the only one in the state and the region offering a two-year degree accredited by the Society of American Foresters. “We are set up to be a two-year program so you can come in and be finished in two years. We also have a one-year certificate and that’s for tree care. If students want to transfer, we have a two-plus-two transfer agreement with West Virginia University, so a lot of our students are choosing to transfer and get their bachelor’s degree in Forest Resources Management.”
