The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team lost their first match of 2024 to Slippery Rock by a final of 5-2 on Friday night. FSU started out in impressive fashion, as the No. 1 doubles team of sophomore Julia Ramos and junior Lorena Pintar won 6-4, followed by the No. 3 pairing of freshman Patricia Castejon and Maria Kotsiou taking their match 6-2, securing the doubles point. The Rock came storming back in singles play, taking five matches to secure the meet victory. In a bright spot for the Bobcats, Castejon ended her day undefeated, as she won a marathon match at the No. 6 position 7-5, 6-7, 7-5.
Frostburg remains in Ebensburg later in the weekend to face Saint Francis (Pa.) on Sunday, February 11 at 3 p.m. Information and updates will be posted at frostburgsports.com.
