ACES Director, Pyles on the Role Amateur Radio Plays in the County Emergency Plan

When disaster strikes communities the most reliable form of emergency communication restoration are often amateur radio operators. These community volunteers take their hobby and provide essential crisis communications to assist in saving lives and providing humanitarian relief here in Allegany County and across the world. Amateur Radio Field Day, a National Emergency exercise will take place Saturday, June 24th beginning at 2PM and running for 24 hours at 599 Georges Creek Blvd, formally the old LaVale swimming pool.
