$50,000 Winning Lottery Ticket sold in Cumberland still unclaimed

August 22nd, 2022 by WCBC Radio

A Multi-Match jackpot win on Aug. 18 made a Maryland Lottery player in White Marsh a millionaire. Meanwhile a scratch-off player in Ocean City claimed a $250,000 prize, and players each won $100,000 on tickets sold in Berwyn Heights, Edgewood and Upper Marlboro in the week ending Aug. 21.

The Multi-Match ticket is worth an annuity value of $2.2 million ($1.6 million cash value). Multi-Match is a Maryland-only rolling jackpot game with a top prize that starts at $500,000 and grows after each drawing where no jackpot-winning ticket is sold. The Multi-Match top prize had been rising since May when a $5.1 million jackpot was won on a ticket sold in Hampstead.

In all, 36 winning tickets worth $10,000 or more were sold or redeemed in the seven days ending Aug. 21, and the Lottery paid nearly $32 million in prizes during that span.

Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem their tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes of up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations. All Maryland Lottery retailers are authorized to redeem tickets up to and including $600. More information is available on the How To Claim page of mdlottery.com.
