The Downtown Development Commission (DDC) is pleased to announce the Second Annual Winter Festival & Market will take place on Saturday, December 14th from 4PM-9PM throughout Cumberland’s Historic City Center. Highlights of the event include:
• Live Music on Two Stages
• Over 25 Retail and Artisan Vendors
• Voting for the Bicycle Decorating Contest
• Fire Pits for Roasting Marshmallows
• Photo Station
• Children’s Area – Arts & Crafts, Smore Making at Fire Pits, Games
• Horse and Carriage Rides and Pony Rides
• Toys for Happiness – Collecting Toys for Local Kids
• Special Guests including Santa Claus & Mrs. Claus, Abominable Snowman, Elsa, and Cinderella.
All festival activities are free of charge. Many of the downtown restaurants and retailers will be open late for the event. Two hours of free parking in the George Street garage continues and most street and lot parking downtown is free on Saturdays. Baltimore, Liberty and Centre Streets will be closed for the event. “We are excited to bring this well-attended event from last year back over to Historic City Center”, says Melinda Kelleher, Executive Director of the Downtown Development Commission.“ The event will be even bigger and better this year, particularly with our newly renovated beautiful downtown.”
