Republican Senatorial candidate and former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan was in the WCBC News Studios on Saturday to discuss his campaign and the issues facing Marylanders.

Hogan noted that he was impressed with the progress on the Downtown Revitalization project, saying it was looking better than he had imagined…

"I was here before it ever started because when I was first told about the idea, when I was running for Governor, and I promised to come back and help get it done.   We invested 19 million dollars to try to help make it happen. I came back multiple times during the process. But it's looking like it's really incredible. It's turning out better than I imagined. It's great to see what use to be so many, unfortunatly, so many empty businesses and buildings to almost everything is filled up."

Hogan also expressed his hope that the investment in Cumberland will continue to pay dividends.

"It's going to…I think this work was a great team of people here locally who worked together. It was a great community effort and we just helped stimulate it with some investment.  I think it's going to transform Cumberland and it's going to have impact for generations to come."
