On the evening of August 22, 2024, at 7 p.m., Lincoln Fellowship of Pennsylvania and Gettysburg National Military Park in partnership with Taps for Veterans, the Gettysburg Licensed Battlefield Guides, and Eisenhower National Historic Site are honored to welcome Chris Myers from Cumberland, Maryland. Returning for a second year of 100 Nights of Taps, Chris Myers began playing bugle in 1987 at the age of 11 for his Boy Scout troop in Florida. A beginning trumpet player at the Florida School for the Blind in elementary band in 1982 established his appreciation and interest in music. Transitioning to public school for middle and high school band he was often requested to bugle for memorial events and special occasions throughout Florida.  Myers continued bugling and teaching cadets in the Civil Air Patrol, performing with the Treasure Coast Composite Squadron honor guard often as the echo of Taps from 1999-2010. During the COVID-19 pandemic he teamed up with Taps Across America and now plays for the community in Cumberland, Maryland.
