Residents of Cumberland along with Law Enforcement gathered for the National Night Out in South Cumberland along Somerville Ave Tuesday night. Cumberland Fire and Police Department provided demonstrations to the public and other community organizations provided activities for the young and old. During the WCBC's Dave Norman program Cumberland Mayor, Ray Morris talked about the event and his enjoyment of the dunk tank…
"I enjoy the the dunk tank at National Night Out because it's so many young children. I mean you're talking about junior high school and grade school young people and it's a lot different than when you do one at a charity function and people like you might be throwing to dunk me, I can heckle you and make comments about your arm but I can't do that to the young people. I have to encourage them but it was a great turnout by the National Night Out and all of the organizations that were there."
