West Virginia University students staged a walkout on Monday to protest the proposed elimination of academic programs as the university seeks to address a $45 million budget shortfall, the Associated Press reported on Monday.  Earlier this year, WVU recommended the elimination of 9% of majors and 7% of total faculty in Morgantown.
