WV Governor Issues State Of Preparedness For Incoming Storms

April 2nd, 2025 by WCBC Radio

Due to developing weather patterns that will bring multiple rounds of severe thunderstorms with heavy rains and high winds in West Virginia beginning Wednesday, April 2, 2025, through Sunday, April 6, 2025, Governor Patrick Morrisey has issued a state of preparedness for all 55 counties.

“I am urging all West Virginians to heed weather warnings over the next few days as severe storms make their way across the state,” said Governor Morrisey. “As we continue to monitor developments, I have directed all state agencies and resources to prepare to respond as needed.”

The National Weather Service has predicted rains causing localized flooding, and high winds that could cause power outages throughout the state. Governor Morrisey and the West Virginia Emergency Management Division (WVEMD) ask all West Virginians to remain attentive to weather conditions through local media reports and follow any instructions issued by emergency officials.
