Impaired Driving Arrest: On November 6, 2024, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 100 Block of Virginia Avenue for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, Officers located a vehicle stopped up on the sidewalk with the operator asleep in the driver’s seat. The operator was removed from the vehicle and identified as David Gearing. Officers conducted an impaired driving investigation and determined Gearing to be driving under the influence. Additionally, Officers located a controlled dangerous substance and paraphernalia on Gearing’s person. Gearing was arrested, issued traffic citations, and criminal citations, and released pending his trial at the Allegany County District Court.
Arrest: David John Gearing, age 37, Cumberland, Maryland.
