Maryland House Republicans made many attempts to amend the state budget and cut spending, but the House voted to move on with a plan adding taxes to vehicle sales, Data and IT Services, and taxes on higher earners. Minority Party leader Jason Buckel argued that everyone is going to feel the effects of the tax hikes, not just the six percent the Governor highlighted…

“Do only 6% of Marylanders buy a car every year? Used car, new car – it doesn’t matter what kind of car you buy, you’re going to be paying more taxes this year. Do only 6% of Marylanders buy something from a vending machine? That’s going to be going up, too. Do only 6% of Marylanders and Maryland businesses purchase tech services?”
