Storm preparation underway at Keysers Ridge garage

November 21st, 2024 by WCBC Radio

Maryland State Highways officials are cautioning anyone traveling in to far western Allegany County and Garrett County to be ready for extreme weather conditions.  Charlie Gischlar of SHA talked to WCBC about the incoming storm and the preparations being made at the Keyser’s Ridge garage…

“Beginning tonight, actually, the storm is supposed to come in and affect mostly Garrett County and the higher elevations but it’s going to be a pretty significant snowfall. They’re calling for anywhere between 6 and 12 inches depending on the storm and how it comes together. And the crews up in our Keyser shop – they’re all ready to roll. We will not be able to pre-treat the roads like we normally would during a normal snowstorm because that is going to start as rain up there before it changes over to snow.”
