April 1st, 2025 by WCBC Radio

Pennsylvania school support workers and their union allies rallied in Harrisburg for House Bill 777, which would raise wages to $20 an hour for more than 41,000 school Staff. Over 100 supporters gathered on the Capitol Steps to encourage passage of the bill. Aaron Chapin with the Pennsylvania State Education Association says the bill would help support staff in public schools who have to work a second job…

“About 45% of our colleagues that are support professionals would benefit from raising the wage to $20 an hour. So many of our educational support professionals, they’re not able to make ends meet with the current salaries that they have.”
