Maryland Governor Wes Moore has received his controversial Bronze Star in a private ceremony in Annapolis. The Governor learned he had received the honor while he was attending the Army-Navy football game on December 14. Lt. Gen. Michael Fenzel, who had originally told Moore to include the award on a 2006 White House Fellowship application, told reporters he was happy to be able to right a wrong. Moore had been told he received the Bronze Star but the award paperwork never went through. The incident came to light earlier this year when the New York Times said Moore had prematurely claimed the award on his fellowship application. The Bronze Star was for Moore's deployment in Afghanistan where he served as a Lieutenant with the 82nd Airborne.
