After much criticism, the Maryland Board of Elections has apparently decided to allow county election boards to release precinct by precinct results in next year’s primary or general elections on election night. Earlier this year the Board had announced that election night numbers would be made available in clusters of several precincts at a time, with no indication as to how specific districts voted. Under that plan, those detailed breakdowns would not be made available until the following week. While most voters may not care about the individual precinct numbers- it is important information to know on election night for candidates as well as news organizations providing election night coverage. Allegany County Commissioners President Jake Shade had been one of the strongest critics of the earlier plan, and says he is glad to see the Board make the change…
