On January 22, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 400 Block of Long Street for the destruction of property complaint. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male, who was later identified as Duane Crowe, was observed destroying a parked vehicle with a baseball bat. When the victim attempted to confront Crowe, he raised the bat and threatened to strike the victim with it before fleeing the area. While on the scene, additional damage was discovered to a business that was also destroyed by Crowe. Once Crowe was identified as the suspect, Officers submitted an application for charges to the Allegany County Commissioner’s office which yielded an arrest warrant. Crowe was located later that day and arrested on the warrant. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center and held without bond.
Arrest: Duane Allen Crowe Jr., age 35, Cumberland, Maryland.
Charges: Assault 2nd Degree, Malicious Destruction of Property x2
