Fraley Addresses Bullying and Cell Phones

October 15th, 2024 by WCBC Radio

Tammy Fraley is running for a third term on the Allegany County Board of Education and last week she addressed the issue of bullying.  Fraley said that cell phones and social media have worsened the problem.  She added that state laws prevent immediate notification of the public regarding sanctions for offenders.

Schools across the country have differing philosophies regarding cell phone usage by students.  Currently Allegany County schools leave discretion to teachers and Tammy Fraley says she encountered a new method of dealing with the issue at a conference, and it involves a magnetic case.
