Just before Baltimore Street reopened, the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation held a special “Drive Thru History” event for people who entered a raffle to be the first to dive along the new street. Money from that fundraiser has now been earmarked for downtown eateries to enhance their outdoor seating, according to CEDC Director Matt Miller…

   

“We plan to purchase new umbrellas for downtown restaurants who obtain leases from the city for outdoor dining purposes. The umbrellas will be the same in terms of style, but each restaurant will have the opportunity to select one of approximately three colors to utilize. This will create a sense of consistency and uniformity throughout all the outdoor eating spaces downtown.”
