CROP Walk Continues To Support Local Food Banks

October 8th, 2024 by WCBC Radio

Sunday, October 13 will be the 53rd annual CROP Walk in the Allegany County area.  Originally, a 25-mile walk through the county, the length has been reduced over the years to the current 3-mile trek. What hasn’t changed is the need benefiting from the annual event – help for stocking local food distribution programs.  John Minnick of the Interfaith Food Pantry says they have long benefited from the CROP Walk to help their program…

“The Interfaith Pantry, we have long been a recipient of the funds that are raised in the community. The funds stay in the community. Our pantry on Cumberland Street – HRDC gives up space in the Headstart building there – and five days a week we are open to serve our neighbors who need a little extra help having enough food to feed their families.”
