For the first time, the City of Cumberland has an official mission statement. The City Council has been having work sessions to develop the statement and it was approved at Tuesday evening’s meeting. Councilwoman Lauri Marchini read the statement on WCBC's Dave Norman program…
“The City of Cumberland is a vibrant and friendly community, devoted to the wellbeing of our residents, businesses, and visitors. We are committed to blending our small town charm, and the region’s natural beauty with opportunities for modernization, while still preserving our city’s rich history. We are committed to making Cumberland a safe and welcoming place to visit, work, live and raise a family. And we strive to provide excellent public safety, quality utilities, and fiscally responsible transparent governance to meet the needs of all citizens in an effort to create a sustainable community.”
