On November 5, 2024, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence on Boone Street for the report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with Dion Alves who appeared under the influence of an unknown substance. Alves was agitated and refused to cooperate with Officers. During the investigation, Alves continued to act in a disorderly manner, creating a public disturbance in the area. Alves was placed under arrest. Upon searching Alves' person, Officers located a suspected controlled dangerous substance. Alves was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center, awaiting his initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
Arrest: Dion Anthony Alves, age 52, Cumberland, Maryland.
Charges: Obstructing and Hindering, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, Failure to Obey, CDS Possession.
