At Monday’s press conference of Bel Air residents fighting against high water rates from Maryland Water Service, story after story was shared of high bills and severe water conservation measures.  One resident shared that even basic hygiene is being affected, trying to keep costs down…

   

“Sometimes he’ll take a bath and then I’ll take a bath or I’ll take a bath and he’ll take a bath in the same water, just to preserve on your water.”

Community organizer Larry Smith said such loss of dignity should not be necessary in this day and age…

   

“Here we are in 2025, and to hear that story – how that can be acceptable to anyone – anybody. You tell me. ‘Cause I’ll tell you what –anyone that wouldn’t be angered by that has nothing between their ears.”
