Baltimore Street Underpass arrest

On January 22, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department were on routine foot patrol in the area of the Underpass on Baltimore Street when they observed a male who was known to have multiple outstanding warrants. Officers approached the male who then provided a false name to avoid apprehension. As a result, John Barker was arrested for the outstanding warrants. A search of his person incident to arrest yielded controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia. John Barker was taken before a District Court Commissioner, awaiting his initial appearance for the warrants and additional on-view charges.

Arrest: John Erik Barker, age 52, Cumberland, Maryland.
Charges: False ID to Avoid Prosecution, CDS Paraphernalia, Obstructing and Hindering. Failure to Appear: CDS Possession Not Cannabis, Theft Less Than $100, Obstructing and Hindering.
