The Cumberland Community Café located at 127 North Centre Street is having a ribbon cutting and grand opening on Sunday, October 6th beginning at 1pm. The pay-as-you-can restaurant is a joint effort of HRDC, the Western Maryland Food Council, and Allegany County Choose Civility. Reverend Martha Macgill, Chair of the Community Café Board, says city officials will be in attendance, and there will be music, and tasting plates…
“The Frostburg State Chorale and the Chamber Singers is going to sing. We’ll have city officials there to cut the ribbon, and people will get a real chance to understand what our food’s about when they get their tasting plate.”
The café will be open every Sunday from 11am to 2pm starting October 13th with plans to expand the schedule.
