County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) arrested a 41 year old
Lonaconing male after a warrant charging him with 2nd Degree sex
Offense, 3rd Degree Sex Offense, 2nd Degree Child Abuse
and Sexual Abuse of a Minor had been issued.

Teachers Have Concerns About Strings Attached To Initiative
Allegany County Public School officials certainly have some interest in securing a share of some $250 million pledged to Maryland through President Barack Obama’s Race to the Top education initiative- however board members and teachers have some serious concerns with the strings attached.
School superintendents from Allegany, Mineral and Garrett County participated in a panel discussion recently hosted by The Greater Cumberland Committee at the Cumberland Country Club.
