The West Virginia Secondary Schools Athletic Association announced late Tuesday afternoon that the football playoffs slated to begin this weekend have been postponed due to litigation throughout the state. Various schools had filed suit after being eliminated from the playoffs last weekend. Controversy has surrounded the new four class system the state instituted earlier this year. Frankfort had been slated as a 3A school until winning an appeal over the summer. As a result of different injunctions granting different rulings, the matter is now likely to be determined by West Virginia’s Supreme Court of Appeals in the coming days.
